What is Balayage
Balayage is the French word for ‘Sweep’ which is quite literally the method being applied by colour artists to work with the natural fall of your hair and colour tones to create a bespoke look. The Balayage technique is so versatile and has many gestures, but generally creates a natural ‘sunkissed’ look; perhaps similar to the fresh and natural hair colour look of a young child in the summer.Lasting at least 12 weeks, Balayage is a low maintenance hair colour choice and unlike foil highlights is relatively quick to apply.

Why a Healthy Scalp Leads to Healthy Hair
For healthy looking hair we can sometimes overlook the importance of looking after our scalps. Just like the skin we can see on our bodies, our scalp skin is also subject to sun damage and premature aging. As we age, our scalp skin becomes thinner and loses its ability to retain moisture and to distribute nutrients to the hair follicles. This creates less voluminous hair with the inability to hold a style. Dandruff, dirt, and product residues can also build up on the scalp, causing problems. A clean scalp helps to promote a healthy environment for optimal hair growth. Exfoliation is also important to remove dead skin cells from around the follicle, keeping it healthy.
